Three years after October 7, Brooklyn’s Jewish communities come together to hold the grief, memory, and questions this day continues to carry.

Join Jewish communities from across Brooklyn for an evening of remembrance, music, and personal testimony with Atir Vinnikov, a survivor of the massacre at the Nova Music Festival.

Atir is an Israeli public speaker who was raised in New York and returned to Israel at age 16. On October 7, 2023, he survived the attack at the Nova festival with crucial help from a Bedouin Muslim man who risked his own life to help others reach safety.

Three years later, Atir shares his testimony and reflects on survival, loss, memory, resilience, and the difficult work of rebuilding life after trauma.

The main gathering will include a community memorial ceremony, music, and Atir’s testimony. High school students and adults are invited to attend.

Following the main gathering, participants are invited to remain for coffee, light refreshments, and an open conversation with Atir and Yuval Linden, the Jewish Agency’s new shaliach to Brooklyn, an educator and IDF reservist.

הצטרפו לקהילות יהודיות מרחבי ברוקלין לערב של זיכרון, מוזיקה ועדות אישית מפי עתיר ויניקוב, ניצול הטבח בפסטיבל המוזיקה נובה.

עתיר הוא דובר ישראלי שגדל בניו יורק ושב לישראל בגיל 16. ב-7 באוקטובר 2023 הוא ניצל מן המתקפה על פסטיבל נובה בעזרתו של גבר בדואי מוסלמי, שסיכן את חייו כדי לסייע לאחרים להגיע למקום מבטחים.

שלוש שנים אחרי, עתיר משתף בעדותו ומדבר על הישרדות, אובדן, זיכרון, חוסן והעבודה הקשה של בניית החיים מחדש לאחר טראומה.

האירוע המרכזי יכלול טקס זיכרון קהילתי, מוזיקה ועדות אישית של עתיר. תלמידי תיכון ומבוגרים מוזמנים להשתתף.

לאחר האירוע המרכזי ניתן להישאר לקפה, כיבוד קל ושיחה פתוחה עם עתיר ועם יובל לינדן, השליח החדש של הסוכנות היהודית בברוקלין, איש חינוך ומשרת מילואים בצה"ל.
